As a D.A.R.E. Youth Advisory Board member, I have gotten some really good training about the effects that drugs have on people. My faith and the training that I have received from D.A.R.E., both influence me always try to make the right choices. As a result, my schoolmates look up to me and respect me for who I am. Recently, a girl in my class asked me to go party with her during the weekend. When I told her, "No thanks, I don't party," she proceeded to make fun of me and try to talk me into doing it. A guy in my class told her to stop. He said, "Leave her alone. Jade is a good girl and she doesn't want to go with you." It made me feel good that even though I didn't know the guy that well, he still knew me and respected my decision not to be involved in the "party scene."
