YOU ARE HIGH AND DECIDE TO DRIVE
Lots of young people know about the dangers of drunk driving. Even so, tragically, too many lives are still lost. But many young people don't appreciate the dangers of driving after taking drugs---including marijuana.
Here's a few facts: In 2002, between 13 and 18% of young drivers aged 17 to 21 reported driving under the influence of an illicit drug during the past year. Experts estimate that more than half a million high school seniors drove under the influence of marijuana, and nearly the same number drove under the influence of alcohol.
What can happen to you? Marijuana affects the way you drive and will impair your motor skills and other skills drivers need to stay alert and safe.
